THE STORY OF A GROUP THAT HAS BEEN A LEADER IN THE DOM FOR NEARLY 60 YEARS.

The LORET Group began from humble beginnings as a family business which takes its rise by devoting itself to automobile distribution. Over time, the Group has diversified and developed mainly in Guadeloupe and then later in Martinique and French Guiana by structuring its basic activities: import, distribution, and car rental, but also in the hotel business and consumer credit industries. The Group will however later separate itself from these last activities in favor of the automobile and more recently the telecommunication industries.

After half a century of existence, the LORET Group has gone beyond the borders of its native Guadeloupe and has become an overseas and Caribbean Group, which is proud of its values and achievements, with a great ambition for the territories in which it operates.

The LORET Group has always had at heart, in the spirit of its founding President, Mr. Roger LORET, who sadly passed away in August 2006, an ideal to contribute in a positive and civic way to the future of the regions in which it operates, with a particular emphasis on economic and digital accessibility and energy transition.

The construction of a fiber optic submarine cable linking 14 islands of the Eastern Caribbean to the global telecommunications axis and the construction of terrestrial telecommunications networks in the four Overseas Departments have been a lasting and tangible contribution to the development and accessibility of our territories and to the progress of the greatest number.

These bold and innovative achievements have been undertaken in close partnership with the Overseas Regions (Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique and Reunion), Europe and all the governments of the countries concerned. They are an emblematic achievement of the Group. Most of these telecom activities have been sold to leading international groups that share the LORET Group’s ethical vision of serving economic development and digital connectivity. In the field of telecommunications, the LORET Group remains the delegate of the Regional Council of Guadeloupe for the operation of the submarine fiber optic cable “Guadeloupe Numérique” linking Guadeloupe, Saint Martin and Saint Barthelemy to the nodes of the global Internet that are St Croix and Puerto Rico (USA).

Thanks to these sales between 2014 and 2016, the LORET Group can now devote more resources to its initial activities of importing and distributing cars, short and long term car rental, and selling spare parts in Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana and Saint Martin.

The LORET Group has always been concerned about contributing to the accessibility of the islands and the promotion of tourism, the main economic resource of the Greater Region, is currently developing a high-end air transport activity through the company ST BARTH EXECUTIVE. This company has become a full-fledged airline since it received its Air Transport Certificate (CTA) from the DGAC in early January 2019.

Confident in its roots, strong in its multiple identities and the skills of its teams, concerned about the development of the Regions and attached to a social relationship of excellence within all its companies, the LORET Group is unquestionably today an important and respected player in the overseas territories.
