Le 24 juin 1910, une nouvelle société est fondée à Milan sous le nom de A.L.F.A (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili). C’est l’entrepreneur napolitain Nicola Romeo qui reprendra l’entreprise et en changera le nom en Alfa Romeo. La même année, Ugo Stella et Giuseppe Merosi, le premier chef ingénieur de la société, signent un accord pour la création de deux voitures, baptisées 24 HP et 12 HP, en référence à leur puissance respective. En 1923, premier résultat historique dans l’histoire de la marque : Ugo Sivocci remporte la Targa Florio au volant d’une Alfa Romeo RL : la première des 10 victoires de la Marque de cette célèbre course sur les routes siciliennes.
